It gives just a cursory history of the war, but the main body of the book is specific to the brave deeds of soldiers from Switzerland County in Indiana. One chapter is entitled "William Bowen runs Bayonet through Boche(sic)". Also included are patriotic things done by citizens at home. There is light soiling throughout the book. There are many photo pages interspersed, and while all are fully attached, there is a loosening evident at the base of some pages.
