Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The first third of this book discusses our (United States) economic system, called capitalism, as envisioned by its creator, Adam Smith, in 1776. In order to work properly, capitalism requires honesty and integrity by both consumers and businesspeople. Capitalism is called a (if not the) free market economic system of the world. Its basis of operation is that businesses and consumers can transact the exchange of goods and services through the conduct of the freedom of exchange between the two parties. The design of capitalism is that it can work best only when both parties in an exchange of goods or services are honest in their discussions about the quality and price of the good or service. The major third party of influence in the U.S. capitalist economic system includes all levels of government. The Federal Government, whose policies on the operation of our U.S. economic system oftentimes create an imbalance and denial of the full implementation of capitalism by creating rules, regulations, and government programs designed to target economic benefits to certain sellers or consumers. These government interventions replace the moral compasses of sellers and consumers with directives that may not just fail to support moral and ethical principles, but in fact, violate them. This book discusses how the American public fails to deal with each other in economic transactions in a totally moral and ethical manner. Finally, it discusses a few of the government policies in the 2008 timeframe where parts of the structure of the U.S. economy were changed by government policies, and some of the negative results from the implementation of those policies. In my view, the absence of God in these myriads of quarrels between buyers and sellers, and bad policies from governments that promote inequitable policies to the public, need serious guidance by (or from) God to correct these man-made flaws in the U.S. capitalist economic system.
