Condición: New. xx, 398 pp. In Spiritus Loci Bert Daelemans, who graduated as an architect and a theologian, provides an interdisciplinary method for the theological assessment of church architecture. Rather than a theory, this method is based on case studies of contemporary buildings (1995-2015), which are often criticized for lacking theological depth. In a threefold method, the author brings to light the ways in which architecture can be theology - or theotopy - by focusing on topoi (places) rather than logoi (words). Churches reveal our relationship with God by engaging our body, mind, and community. This method proves relevant not only for the way we perceive these buildings, but also for the way we use them, especially in our prophetic engagement for a better world.

Punto metallico -- This article inaugurates two complementary studies on the redemptive aspect of divine revelation in Ephrem's Hymns on the Nativity: God redeems us by revealing Himself. This first article presents a comprehensive analysis of Nat III, as an accurate entry to the entire collection. Complementary to this, a second article will present a comparative study of essential terms concerning 'redemptive revelation' in the whole collection on the Nativity. The doxological third Hymn on the Nativity presents Christological paradoxes of the Incarnation by celebrating only two relations of Christ: to His Father and to us. Ephrem proceeds like a painter using an impressive imagery that does not need names like Jesus, Christ or Messiah. Nat III opens with a soteriological diptych (Nat III, 1-2), based entirely on our relation with the incarnate Logos, which to Ephrem is more existential than the Logos as such. His doxological theology is utterly aesthetic. This liturgical basis, rooted in ordinary life, is the appropriate fertile ground to rise towards the invisible God revealed in His visible Son and acclaimed in the impressive philosophical summit of the hymn (Nat III, 3-5). The next stanzas present a magnificent chain of soteriological images, hinting at the Gospels and without eschewing the Passion. For Ephrem, divine self-revelation gravitates around a 'for us' (lan). With each stanza containing a revelatory note, together they form one soteriological symphony.

Añadir al carritoBrossura. Condición: nuovo. 52pp. Estratto da "ORIENTALIA CHRISTIANA PERIODICA" 78 (2012). Punto metallico --- This is the second of two articles discussing the revelatory aspect of divine redemption in Ephrem's Hymns on the Nativity. Complementary to the detailed study of the third hymn of this collection (OCP 77 [2011] 351-398), this article presents the results of a comparative study of recurrent terms in the whole collection on the Nativity, making references to Ephrem's entire oeuvre. The first part examines three terminological groups concerning the revelatory aspect of redemption, namely ksy'/gly' ; dn'; and lbw'/'sýl wbü'. The second part focuses on three terminological groups emphasizing the redemptive aspect of revelation, namely 'rkn/nüt/z'r; üyl' ; phgr'. Finally, a synthesis of both articles collects their results, as the importance of verbs in Ephrem's poetical theology, the centrality of üyl', and the omnipresence of revelation in the Hymns of the Nativity. For Ephrem, God remains the absolute hidden Mystery, who noetically reveals Godself through a Christological aesthetics, pedagogically adapted to our senses, and soteriologically uplifting, giving us life.
