Diesen Geburtstag wird Dietrich Adam ganz sicher nicht als wichtigen Einschnitt in seinem Leben betrachten, wenn man seine weiterhin vielfältigen Aktivitäten und sein stets entfaltetes starkes Engagement kennt -ob in der Lehre oder Wissenschaft, ob in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung oder in den Unternehmer-Seminaren, ob in den Neuen Bundesländern oder im Krankenhausbereich. Daher ist es viel zu früh, bereits heute seine Biographie zu entwerfen oder Bibliographie zu würdigen, um das Werden und Wirken von Dietrich Adam deutlich werden zu lassen. Die in dieser Festschrift enthaltenen Beiträge sind unter dem Generalthema 'Betriebs wirtschaftliches Controlling' zusammengefaßt worden. Dies erscheint dann gerechtfer tigt, wenn man das Aufgabengebiet des Controlling sehr weit und umfassend als Be schaffung, Aufbereitung und Analyse von Daten zur Vorbereitung zielsetzungsgerech ter Entscheidungen umschreibt.
