Author argues that slavery is part of God's plan. While he felt some slaverholders were evil, so were some slaves. This is probably a first edition of this work; a later edition was published in 1856. Work 318.

In the original cloth binding. Externally, both boards are detached, lacking most of the backstrip. Light bumping to the extremities. A little light rubbing and marks to the boards.
