First Edition. The blond-stained wood with Folk Art decoration -- lightly chiseled outlines of lettering and drawn dragon, painted coloring within -- that sets this copy apart and lends it an evocative charm. While the letters are Roman, they are rendered in a manner to suggest Chinese characters, and the appropriateness of the playful dragon figure requires no explanation. The pages are clean, with a normal or expected level of age toning. the boards have a few light stains but are sturdy, of course, and remain highly appealing. Wraps, which held between two thick wood boards. Stab binding through wood and pamphlet proper. Leather cord passing through holes. Warren G. Troutman (Decoration by) (ilustrador). …
