Original dark blue gilt and blind stamped embossed cloth, gilt embossed decorative spine a little rubbed on part, but still bright and no fading, AEG (all edges gilt). Front free endpaper stuck to the facing page inside front board, the plates have their tissue guards still and colours very bright. A damp mark through the book lower inside corner near spine, white borders affected, text and plates not affected, quite light in places, but constant. Lower corners wear at tips with a little surface loss. Tall octavo. *All the plates depict young children in romantic pastoral settings and scenes, charming events that would stir a young romantic heart and not for those whose hearts were put through a wringer a few times-or even once!
