He also won one of his two British PGA Championships when over 50! Interesting chapter on American Golf (Head toured the USA with J.H. Taylor.) Green cloth slightly lifted from boards in several spots, light wear, contents clean, unfoxed. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Sandy Herd (1868-1944) was the club professional at Huddersfield Golf Club from 1892 to 1911. In 1902, he narrowly won the Open at Hoylake, beating Harry Vardon and James Braid at the final hole. He was the first Open Champion to use the Haskell rubber cored ball. First Edition. 8vo. vii + 246pp. Portrait frontis., 17 plates. Original green cloth, gilt title to spine. A very good copy.
