Trotz der abenteuerlichen Geschichte der Nutzung als militärische Unterkunft, als Jugendclub, als Ballettschule und als Gästehaus und trotz einiger Sanierungsmassnahmen ist die Villa Tugendhat in ihrer Substanz weitgehend erhalten und eine außergewöhnliche Besonderheit. Diese Publikation des Institut für Baugestaltung II der Universität Karlsruhe (TH), Fakultät für Architektur erscheint als Begleitbuch der Ausstellung "Vila Tugendhat Brno". Diese wurde konzipiert im Rahmen der 3. Karlsruher Tagung Das archetektonische Erbe zum aktuellen Umgang mit den Bauten der Moderne" im Januar 2006. Sie ist nicht nur eine zeitgenössische Fotodokumentation über das Haus Tugendhat, sondern auch eine aktuelle Deutung der Architektur mit den Mitteln der Fotografie, 75 Jahre nach der Fertigstellung des Gebäudes. Die Texte nehmen Stellung zur Aktualität der Aufnahmen, zur wechselvollen Geschichte des Hauses bis in die Gegenwart und zur Architekturfotografie. Sprache: Deutsch.
