Comic. Condición: Very Good+. 4th Printing. This is a fourth printing, with the ink on the front cover only showing two colors around the 50 cent notice on the front cover of the comic book. And NO color illustrations in the text pages. The book is in Very Good+ condition and was issued without a dust jacket. There is a thin strip of toning / discoloration to the bottom edge of the front cover of the book. There is some very beginning bumping / wear to the spine ends and the corners of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. "So the 4th printing is primarily distinguished from the 3rd printing by the solid-black ink outlines, but another tell-tale sign is that the bindings of the 3rd printing are typically much sloppier and skewed, whereas the 4th printings are neatly trimmed. " (from Underground Comix Joint) . "The Family" was the first professional, graphically incestuous cartoon anyone had ever seen and it remains a shocking image even today. Why did Crumb dare to do it? Well, as Robert Williams said about Snatch, "We were seeing just how absurdly improper you can get before the authorities have to hunt you down." Crumb's subject matter had some catching up to do after S. Clay Wilson's incendiary comics in Zap #2 and he rose to the challenge. As well, "The Family" can be viewed as a derisive parody of the heavily promoted slogan, "The Family That Prays Together Stays Together." That oft-quoted catchphrase was coined by an ad agency writer for the 1940s Roman Catholic Family Rosary Crusade led by Father Patrick Peyton. It caught on quickly and was plastered on over 100,000 billboards and endorsed by dozens of Hollywood celebrities. By the '60s, the slogan had been embroidered by countless church ladies and gift manufacturers on millions of pillows and wall hangings. It was exactly the type of fad that made Crumb's blood boil, and if his family didn't display the slogan in his childhood home, he certainly knew families that did. " (from Underground Comix Joint). Illustrated by Robert Crumb, S. Clay Wilson, Rory Hayes, Etc. (ilustrador).…

Comic. Condición: Very Good+. 4th Printing. Likely fourth (or fifth) printing, which are virtually identical (according to the Underground Comix Joint) This is a small format comic book. The book is in Very Good+ condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some very beginning bumping and wear. The text pages are clean and bright. "[? ? Suspicious Content] Crumb and Wilson give their readers plenty of answers inside the book, with a wide variety of candid sexual snapshots and situations that are presented as much for laughs as they are for lechery. Sure, there's a few squeamish scenes of choking, slapping and assault, but they happen with both men and women being victimized. Far more common are scenes of people enjoying sex in one form or another, with both males and females getting off on the action. There is one six-page story by Crumb near the end of the book that is little more than a masturbatory fantasy of two athletic women (one black, one white) fighting like vicious cats, but except for the fact that their erogenous zones are abused it's no worse than other fictional portrayals of women fighting. " (from Underground Comix Joint). Illustrated by Robert Crumb & S. Clay Wilson (ilustrador).…

" Snatch Comics #3 expands its roster of contributors again, adding Robert Williams and Jim Osborne to the mix, as well as expanding the number of pages given to Victor Moscoso. Rory Hayes had devoted much of his spring and summer to drawing for Cunt Comics, so he only gets two pages here. This issue came out in August 1969, the same month as the greatest underground of all time, Zap Comix #4, so it's easy to imagine that Williams, Moscoso, S. Clay Wilson and Robert Crumb were more focused on Zap than Snatch that summer." (from UndergroundComixjoint) . Illustrated by Robet Crumb, Et Al (ilustrador).…
