This copy Inscribed by Barry's widow, Ellen: "For our dearest friends Hope and Edgar, Ellen, 1951." Tipped onto the same page is a color photo of Barry's grave in Boston. Hope Montgomery Scott was the glamorous Philadelphia Mainline society woman who was the basis for the Tracy Lord character in *The Philadelphia Story*. The play was dedicated to Hope Montgomery Scott and her husband Edgar, who were lifelong friends of Philip and Ellen Barry.
