Ownership lady of Frederica Sophia Broke (nee Mure) on the front pastedown endpaper. Broke was the author of a diary recording an 1834 journey from Boston to Niagara Falls then to Quebec, New York. Progress of the Pilgrim Good Intent is a loose sequel and/or response to Pilgrims' Progress. It was originally published, in 1800, anonymously; but the introduction to the 1814 edition (this edition) by her brother, revealed the Scottish writer, Mary Ann Burges as the author.
