Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is on the brink of a significant societal shift that is highlighted by the urgent need to replace the old social order. The author suggests that the devastating effects of war have greatly accelerated this transition and necessitated profound societal change. The author believes that the transition requires addressing both practical and spiritual aspects. As the old order crumbles, emerging new principles begin to define the future. These principles are not viewed as final products, but rather evolving ideals that humanity can continually aspire to and apply. The author, a teacher of Christian ethics, draws parallels between these principles and the teachings of Jesus, suggesting their historical development and relevance to the current situation. While acknowledging the complexity of the issues involved, this book emphasizes the fundamental importance of justice, efficiency, and a focus on individuality. It also underscores the urgent need for religious and spiritual transformation alongside social and economic change. Ultimately, this book seeks to provide a roadmap for navigating the transition to a new social order, balancing the preservation of valuable traditions with the creation of a more just and equitable society for all. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Añadir al carritoFirst UK editions, first printings, of each volume of Hayek's last major work of social philosophy, published over a seven-year period. In many ways the culmination of his philosophical career, Law, Legislation and Liberty was Hayek's most extensive philosophical analysis of the structure of society, the nature of justice, and the underlying principles of economics. The work joins The Road to Serfdom and The Constitution of Liberty in the triumvirate of Hayek's three philosophical masterworks. The US and UK editions, both printed in Britain, were published simultaneously. Cody & Ostrem B-15, B-16, B-18. 3 vols, octavo. Original black cloth, spines lettered in gilt on blue grounds. With dust jackets. With the ownership signature of Alistair Munro at the University of Stirling to front endpapers (dated 1973, 1978, and 1979 respectively); Munro is an economist who focuses on behavioural and environmental economics. Light rubbing to cloth; jackets a little sunned (spine of vol. II more so), vol. I price-clipped, light soling and rubbing. A very good set in very good jackets.
