paperback. Condición: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.…

Paperback. Condición: Very Good. Welcome to 62: A Model Kit (1994) by Julio Cortázar (Marion Boyars), ISBN 9780714525310 ? a novel that looks you in the eye and says, very calmly: Here are the pieces. Build the story yourself. And then watches, politely, as you realise the pieces may be moving. If you?re expecting a conventional plot with a beginning, middle, and end that line up like obedient dominoes, Cortázar has bad news (and it?s delightful). This is fiction as pattern , echo , collage ? a book where meaning isn?t delivered, it?s assembled. The title is not joking: it?s a model kit. You get characters, scenes, cities, gestures, fragments of conversation, odd coincidences, recurring images, and a strong sense that reality is a little looser than you were promised. The pleasure is in the connections ? and in the fact that the connections are never fully pinned down. Cortázar?s world is cosmopolitan and slightly uncanny: people drift between Paris, London, Vienna (and the mental spaces in between), falling into conversations that feel like puzzles, relationships that feel like déjà vu, and moments that seem to carry secret instructions. There?s humour, elegance, and that peculiar Cortázar quality where the everyday can suddenly tilt into the surreal without any dramatic special effects ? just a shift in perception and a sentence that lands a fraction too perfectly. The irony here is that it can feel both playful and deeply serious. You?ll catch yourself smiling at the cleverness, then get snagged by something unsettling ? a sense of unseen design, a shadow of violence, the idea that people?s lives might be linked by forces they can?t name. The book doesn?t shout its themes. It lets them accumulate like music: repetition, variation, tension, release. Reading it is less like being told a story and more like walking through a set of rooms where the wallpaper repeats in different colours and you start to suspect the house is thinking. Marion Boyars is a perfect fit as a publisher: this is literary, slightly daring, the sort of book you buy because you enjoy being intellectually nudged off balance. It?s the kind of novel that makes you feel sophisticated just by owning it ? and then makes you work for that sophistication by refusing to behave. Condition: Very Good , meaning this copy has been treated with the sort of respect people give to books that might bite. It?s been read, but carefully; carried, but not battered. Clean enough to feel ?almost new,? and solid enough to handle rereading ? which is important, because this is absolutely the kind of book that changes slightly when you come back to it. (Or you do. Same difference.) Perfect for: fans of experimental and modernist fiction, Cortázar devotees and curious newcomers who enjoy puzzles, readers who like their novels to behave like art objects, and anyone who has ever wished a book would stop holding their hand and instead hand them a screwdriver. Sold by Crappy Old Books , naturally ? because where else would a very good copy of an elegant, brain-bending Cortázar ?model kit? end up, if not waiting for the next reader to open it, start assembling meaning, and realise they?ve built something strange, beautiful, and slightly alive.…

Paperback. Condición: Good. 62 ? A Model Kit (1994) by Julio Cortázar ? Condition: Good (Crappy Old Books) Julio Cortázar was never content to simply write novels; he preferred to build literary playgrounds, puzzles, rabbit holes, and labyrinths. 62 ? A Model Kit (Marion Boyars, 1994, ISBN: 9780714525310) is perhaps his most mischievous experiment?a ?novel? that functions like its title suggests: as a kit. The pieces are scattered, the instructions cryptic, and the finished object entirely up to the reader. Characters drift across Paris and Vienna, slipping between conversations, dreams, and chance encounters. Plot points appear, vanish, and reassemble like Lego bricks in the hands of a particularly surreal child. This is not a book that holds your hand; it tosses you into the deep end of Cortázar?s imagination and says, ?Swim?or invent water wings.? If you loved Hopscotch but wished it were weirder, this is your jam. If you?ve never read Cortázar, well, buckle up: this is literature as hall of mirrors, equal parts dazzling and disorienting. Now, about the copy: sold by the eternally charmingly ramshackle Crappy Old Books , this one is in Good condition. That means it?s sturdy, readable, and intact?but expect a little wear to the cover (a scuff here, a crease there), and maybe some pages that look like they?ve been thumbed by readers puzzling out what on earth is happening. The spine is sound, the text clean, and every eccentric sentence is right where it should be. Like the model kit itself, it?s a little worn but complete, ready for you to assemble (or dismantle) as you see fit. In short: 62 ? A Model Kit is a literary contraption, part riddle, part dream, part novel, wholly Cortázar. This copy is in Good condition, which seems fitting?because immaculate neatness would only spoil the fun. Another delightfully strange treasure from Crappy Old Books, where even the puzzles come pre-loved. …
