Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articlesavailable from Wikipedia or other free sources online.Fructosamine-3-kinase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the FN3Kgene. FN3K catalyzes phosphorylation of fructosamines formed byglycation, the nonenzymatic reaction of glucose with primary aminesfollowed by Amadori rearrangement. Phosphorylation of fructosamines mayinitiate metabolism of the modified amine and result in deglycation ofglycated proteins (Delpierre et al., 2000). FN3K is responsible for theformation of fructose 3-phosphate (F3P), a compound identified in thelenses of diabetic rats. The spontaneous decomposition of F3P leads tothe formation of 3-deoxyglucosone (3DG). 3DG contributes to diabeticcomplications. Treatment of normal and diabetic rats with an inhibitorof FN3K demonstrated a large reduction (~50%) in systemic 3DG in bothgroups. Removal of 3DG at its source by inhibition of FN3K is a viableoption to treat diabetes related diseases since it would require a muchsmaller dose of drug. …
