Laid-in are 4 T.L.Ss. to Chapman and/or his colleague and co-author Walter Granger from the recipients of Presentation copies of this book: Kermit Roosevelt. T(homas) W. Lamont, Childe Frick and C.V. Whitney (the letters variously dated January to April, 1933). Andrews, adventurer, explorer and naturalist, was subsequently the model for the character of Indiana Jones.
