Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the history of geometry, with a particular focus on the parallel postulate, also known as the fifth postulate. The author traces the development of the postulate from its origins in ancient Greece through its eventual refutation in the 19th century. Along the way, the book explores the work of key figures in the history of geometry, including Euclid, Lobachevsky, and Riemann, and examines the philosophical implications of the parallel postulate. The author argues that the rejection of the parallel postulate led to a revolution in our understanding of space and geometry, and that this revolution has had a profound impact on our understanding of the universe. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
