Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. Struggling to mask his tears, Tony Hall followed a doctor through a mass of dying Ethiopians crying out for food and medicinehelp that could not possibly arrive soon enough or in sufficient quantities to keep them alive. From that painful scene of hopelessness, Hall returned home with a new focus for his faith. Both as a U.S. Congressman and the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Agencies in Rome, he has been a man with a mission. Tony used his passion, faith, and political skills to solicit the aid of those able to help. And as he worked with liberals and conservatives, Republicans and Democrats, and people of very different faiths, he stumbled into a remarkable discovery. He found that people who regularly live at odds often are willing to join forces in helping those who are abjectly poor and hungry.Ive learned not only that people can work together across differences . . . but our diversity gives us strength." Let Tony capture your heart with his dream that we may put aside differences and join hands to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, and discover the importance of life. If Tony Hall was to be true to his faith, he must find a way to bring God into the political world in which he worked. Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very good. First Printing [Stated]. xvi, 202, [6] pages. Appendix. Notes. Signed on the fep by Ambassador Tony Hall. A former U.S. Representative and current U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome offers practical advice on ways to make a difference in the world, providing insight into the roles of faith and politics in Washington. Tony Patrick Hall (born January 16, 1942) is an American politician, businessman, and diplomat who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Ohio's 3rd congressional district from 1979 to 2002. Hall had previously served in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly. From 2002 to 2006, Hall served as United States Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, and as chief of the United States Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome, which includes the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Food Program, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. Subsequently, Hall worked on a Middle East peace initiative in collaboration with the Center for the Study of the Presidency. He serves as executive director emeritus of The Alliance to End Hunger. Hall also serves on the Board of Advisors of Opportunity International, a charity that seeks to end poverty. Hall remains active fighting hunger in Dayton. In 2015, he created the Hall Hunger Initiative, a Dayton-based nonprofit working to "create a just and equitable food system." Ambassador Hall was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for 1998, 1999 and 2001 for his humanitarian and hunger-related work. Struggling to mask his tears, Tony Hall followed a doctor through a mass of dying Ethiopians crying out for food and medicine--help that could not possibly arrive soon enough or in sufficient quantities to keep them alive. From that painful scene of hopelessness, Hall returned home with a new focus for his faith.
