Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Used; Good. This is a wonderful copy of Charles Dickens? American Notes. In this travelogue, Dickens details his trip to America in 1842 in his frank and humorous style. While positive in some aspects and places, he particularly enjoyed Boston, Cincinnati and Niagara Falls, ultimately his curiosity and excitement at seeing this new civilisation turned to a critique of the culture he saw - particularly the slavery, corruption and attitudes of those he met. Unsurprisingly this book was met with a hostile reaction from readers in the US. Dickens? writings are always a classy and welcome addition to any bookshelf. Title: American Notes and Reprinted Pieces Author: Charles Dickens Publisher: Chapman and Hall Published Date: 1896 Format: Hardback Condition: This book is in good condition for its age other than some minor signs of wear, prize sticker on the front pastedown.
