Review of "Bones" for Judith PageIt is always both an honour and privilege to be allowed to enjoy Judith Page's writings. Her latest work on Bones certainly does not disappoint. Her writing is always well thought out with substantive research and deep verification. Looking at the table of contents and forward let me know that I was in for an academic and esoteric treat once more. My background in working with talismans, amulets and other venerated relics brought me to intensive reading of this work several times before writing these words. Many who think of symbolically connected materials often think of metal, mineral or even plantmatter when constructing a spiritually significant object. However, it is shown, time after time, that skeletal matter, including both bones in total and teeth, maintains a powerful influence and use in venerations throughout the centuries up to the present day.Judith explores the significance of bones throughout a plethora of historical events in depth. Many writings of this depth are academic to the point of dryness. This book, however, is just the opposite. Her writing is to this reader like a first-person experience, as if reading from a scribe who is writing from the significance in itself. Additionally, writings of this level of substance oftentimes include very little, if not no illustrations. It is not that way in this case. The illustrations bring this book up to the level of Exemplar. They truly complete this work. I have never been disappointed in the works of Judith Page. She always typifies spiritual and academic excellence. This volume continues my faith and admiration of this authorand friend. I encourage you to consider this fine work. The only thing you will not get from this tome is disappointment.By James Hunter-Ralston (The Talimancer) This item is printed on demand.
