Trade Paperback. Condición: As New. First Edition. 155 Pages with Index of Games. Text pages are bright, tight, and white. The author wrote this book because, during a detailed research on the Leningrad Variation in the Dutch Defence with the development of Black with 7 . tjjc6 (ECO A89),he noticed that many fascinating games ha…d been ignored both by ECO and by subsequent monographs. The aim of this book is that of providing the reader with all of the material he has managed to gather during his years of research. Throughout these years he purchased the various monographs on the Dutch Defence. However, with great dismay he noticed in all of them that, with regard to the variations dealt with in the present book, the same fonts and the same games were always used. Games that he had found in magazines and which were of great interest were completely ignored! In other cases the books halted at the critical point: 8.d5 tjje5 9.tjje5 de5 1O.e4 f4 11.b4 g5 12. nel a6 13.~b2 ~e8 14. ncl tjjg4 15.f3 tjje3 16. ne3 fe3 17.g4 and here Volume A of the Encyclopredia of Chess Openings terminates with a lapidary appraisal of a clear advantage for White! With unbounded stupor he discovered that, in a number of national level correspondence games, Black continued with 17 . h5 18.h3 hg4 19.hg4 .,tg4!! and rapidly won the game. Something common to all openings books and theoretic articles is that often the same position is evaluated differently depending on who the author is. This book should be seen as a good base for those interested in an in-depth study of this particular variation. The games are to be found within the theoretic text, in order to facilitate the following of the development of the game itself and also to grant the attentive reader the possibility of gaining a certain familiarity with the links which exist between the opening, middle-game and end-game in the variation dealt with in this book.
