The aim of this book is that of providing the reader with all of the material he has managed to gather during his years of research. Throughout these years he purchased the various monographs on the Dutch Defence. However, with great dismay he noticed in all of them that, with regard to the variations dealt with in the present book, the same fonts and the same games were always used. Games that he had found in magazines and which were of great interest were completely ignored! In other cases the books halted at the critical point: 8.d5 tjje5 9.tjje5 de5 1O.e4 f4 11.b4 g5 12. nel a6 13.~b2 ~e8 14. ncl tjjg4 15.f3 tjje3 16. ne3 fe3 17.g4 and here Volume A of the Encyclopredia of Chess Openings terminates with a lapidary appraisal of a clear advantage for White!
