"The book is an interdisciplinary study of mining and environment relationship. It analyses that mining leads to ruthless destruction of both natural and biological elements of the ecosystem, right from cleaning the vegetation to blasting of rocks. It discusses the pre- and post-mining impact through a unique approach, supported by satellite imageries, topographical maps, lab tested and other ground truth data. It is also an indepth analysis of non-ferrous minerals. Among them, quite few occupy national and state level status in production,also cover considerable area under mining activity. "For sustainable development, the book suggests an applied Environment Management Plan (EMP)for different mining areas.
