About The Author: Shyam Sundar Rath is wellknown physical educatonist and coach in Orissa. He obtained his Honours Degree (Pol. Sc.) form Utkal University and Post Graduation Degree (Phy. Edn.) from LNIPE, Gwalior, completed Diploma in coaching form National institute of Sports, Patiala and awarded Ph. D in Physical Educations from Utkal University. Served as lecturer (Physical Education), Principal at college of Physical Education SMIE, Gurujanga, Khurda, Orissa and Principal at Orissan martial Art Academy, Khurda. While a student he represented Utkal University and Jiwaji University in All India Interuniversity Weight Lifting and Best Phsique championship five times from the years 1982 to 1986. He has represented All India Senior National Championship in the years 1985. He conducted Seminars and Workshops in the state to revive Orissan martial Arts. He has attended National Sports Medicine Seminar held at Gawalior. He presented papers on "World Peace and Physical Education and Sports" in International Congress on Physical Education held at Gwalior in the year 1998. He conducted many fitness programmes along with health and wellness workshops for people of different age. His luminosity as a coach has produced many District, State and National level sports man and woman. Presently he is working as Sports Officer and Head of the Department of Physical Education at College of Engineering Bhubaneswar (CEB), Patia, Bhubansewar, Orissa.
