The coexistence of Bertolotti syndrome and bilateral cervical ribs is exceptionally rare and supports the concept of a common developmental disturbance affecting vertebral segmentation and rib formation. This book describes the first documented Iraqi case of Bertolotti syndrome associated with bilateral cervical ribs. The coexistence of these anomalies supports the concept that disturbances of vertebral segmentation may manifest at multiple spinal levels and may be accompanied by rib abnormalities.
