This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -In this book, a soft starting arrangement is designed and developed for the existing three high open train rolling mill of the mechanical type which should be suitable for starting a rolling mill with very high inertia flywheel and at the same time the motor capacity is decreased by 38.46 % the existing electric motor of the rolling mill. The suggested soft starting arrangement is implemented in the existing rolling mill. The followings are the observations recorded.a) The main electric motor of the existing rolling mill is replaced by a smaller capacity electric motor which in turn cuts down the electric consumption in the rolling mill. b) The transmission arrangement of three high open train existing rolling mills is designed and developed which replaces the existing v-belt drive by flat belt drive. c) By using the suggested soft starting arrangement, the monthly electric billing cost is decreased. The monthly electric billing cost of the existing rolling mill is reduced by 29.01 % and the consumption of electricity units reduced by 30.71%. Hence, the operating cost of the three high open train rolling mills reduced. 132 pp. Englisch.
