The topology of the network created by nodes can change randomly when the nodes move, making routing a big challenge. In response, Jose Ayub Gonzalez Garrido has developed a caching strategy which will allow nodes to efficiently adapt their cache to reconfigurations in the network. This cache mechanism is implemented for the Dynamic Source Routing protocol (DSR), improving its standard performance. In addition the author gives a brief overview of the routing challenges in ad hoc networks, focusing on on-demand routing.
