The book covers the writer's life and ancestry in a series of vignettes extending from the immigration of his ancestor Laurent de Camp to Nieuw Amsterdam in 1664 to his own move to Plano, Texas in 1989. The main focus is on his own life,…travels, works, and friends in the writing community, such as Isaac Asimov and Robert A. Heinlein (Wikipedia). The book includes notes, bibliography, a photo section and an index. This book would make a excellent addition to any SF, Fantasy, or literary student's library. It is in fine condition with a Highsmith 1 1/2 mil mylar DJ cover, the boards are flat and parallel, the pages clean and bright inspite of shelf sitting for 25+ years. On the back mylar DJ cover (not on the books DJ) are three brail tags. It appears to not have been read, the binding is tight and firm. The book won the Hugo award for best non-fiction in 1997 and placed second in the Locus Pole award for best non-fiction the same year. Frank Kelly Freas (ilustrador).
