On page 193 Robert Kroetsch writes of the Heisler Hotel. It is my contention that the muse of every Alberta poet lives in the attic of that hotel. Even those from Medicine Hat, Burmis, Chauvin, Milk River, and Edmonton. The connection between prairie geography and artistic vision is here made apparent by Stamp who also wrote two pieces for the anthology. You might also recognize Miriam Waddington, Leonard Cohen, Sid Marty, Ken Rivard and Cecelia Frey. I was drawn to Rita Wong and Dennis Cooley. UNillustrated; but maps take you on a provincial tour.
