Journey back in time to explore the rise and fall of the Visigothic monarchy, where barbarian traditions intertwined with Roman law and the growing influence of the Church. Discover how this unique code balanced harsh punishments with surprisingly progressive ideas, like equal inheritance for children of both sexes. The author expertly guides you through the Code's intricate details, revealing insights into daily life, social structures, and the complex relationship between the Crown, the Church, and the people. Witness the struggle for power, the rise of intolerance, and the eventual decline of the Visigothic kingdom. This exploration of the Visigothic Code offers more than just a glimpse into a bygone era.
