Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. "Cock Robin" is a suspenseful mystery play co-authored by the distinguished playwrights Elmer Rice and Philip Barry. Set against the backdrop of a small-town amateur theatrical production, the story unfolds as a theater troupe rehearses and performs a period costume drama. The plot takes a dark and unexpected turn when a simulated duel on stage results in an actual death, transforming the scripted performance into a gripping real-life crime scene. As the investigation begins, the private lives, secret rivalries, and hidden animosities of the cast members are slowly brought to light. This classic whodunit is celebrated for its clever "play-within-a-play" structure and its sharp, witty dialogue. By blending elements of social satire with a traditional murder mystery, Rice and Barry create a compelling narrative that keeps the audience guessing until the final curtain call. "Cock Robin" stands as a significant work in early 20th-century American drama, offering a fascinating glimpse into the world of the theater while delivering a satisfyingly complex puzzle for fans of the genre. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
