Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Stated first UK edition, first impression. SIGNED AND DEDICATED BY LIBERACE ON TITLE PAGE. 'Liberace love to Dona', in Liberace's typical large flourishing signature. Some edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners slightly rubbed,… small closed tear to top back jacket. Not price clipped (£2.75), no other inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ interesting copy. 312, decorated endpapers, illustrated. A child prodigy and the son of working class immigrants, Liberace (1919-87), enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame, from the 1950s to the 1970s, Liberace was the highest paid entertainer in the world, with a magnificent home in Las Vegas, and an international touring schedule. Liberace embraced a lifestyle of flamboyant excess both on and off stage, acquiring the sobriquet 'Mr. Showmanship'. Sadly Liberace died of AIDS at his winter home in Palm Springs, California. He was 67 years old. Very scarce signed. Signed by Author(s).
