Though it is important to honor the memory of victims and survivors, Burg argues that the Jewish community must not isolate itself by constantly mourning the past and fearing the future. Burg uses his own family history~his parents were Holocaust survivors~to inform his innovative views on what the Jewish people need to do in order to live in peace with their Arab neighbors and feel comfortable in the world at large.
