Condición: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 560 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | The Human Race will enter the third millennium on the crest of a far-reaching social change. According to the theory of the promising Russian economist and sociologist Vladislav Inozemtsev, a new type of society is taking shape, one in which the motivations of an increasingly wide spectrum of people are essentially non-economic. The emergence of this post-economic society gives rise to major contradictions, both within the developed post-industrial countries and on the international scene. These contradictions are rooted in the different capacity of individuals and whole nations for absorbing the growing flow of information and generating new knowledge - something that underlines today's technological and social progress. At the turn of the century, the researcher sees humanity as a ""divided civilisation"". The prospects for its development are what this book analyses. Vladislav L. Inozemtsev (b. 1968) is a Professor in the Economics Department of Moscow State University and Director of the Centre for Post-Industrial Studies under the Russian Academy of Sciences. Professor Inozemtsev has authored eight books on theoretical aspects of contemporary international economy and economic history published in Russia during 1995-2000, as well as over 140 articles in the Russian academic press. One of his books has been translated into French (V.L. Inozemtsev, Contribution à la théorite de la formation post-économique de la société, Paris, 1996) and another one into English (V.L. Inozemtsev, The Constitution of the Post-Economic State: Post-Industrial Theories and Post-Economic Trends in the Contemporary World, Aldershot, England, 1998). Between 1997-2000, he translated into Russian and edited several books by Western economists and sociologists, including The Calculus of Consent and The Limits of Liberty by James Buchanan, The Coming of Post-Industrial Society by Daniel Bell as well as the anthology Modern Post-Industrial Wave in the West comprising excerpts from the works of Lester Thurow, Peter Drucker, Francis Fukuyama, John K. Galbraith, A. Etzioni, etc. From 1994 Vladislav L. Inozemtsev has been Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Moscow-Paris Commercial Bank. In 1998-1999 he was invited to Harvard University, USA as a visiting lecturer on Russian Economics. Since 1997 Vladislav L. Inozemtsev has been living in Moscow and Paris.

Condición: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | Most quality control and quality improvement procedures involve making assumptions about the distributional form of data it uses; usually the data is distributed. It is common place to find processes that generate data which is not normally distributed, e.g.Weibull, logistic or mixture data is increasingly encountered. This book is concerned with statisitcal process control (SPC), where SPC is to control a process in an ideal situation with respect to a particular product specification. One of the several measurement tools of SPC is control chart which monitors process and quality improvement. The literature review indicates that there are real problems in dealing with statistical process control for non-normal distributions and mixture distributions. This book provides a quantile approach to deal with non-normal distributions, in order to construct median rankit control chart. The quantile approach will also be used to calculate a process capability index, average run length, multivariate control chart and control chart for mixture distribution for non-normal situations. This methodology can be easily adopted by the practitioner of statistical process control. Professor Kanji is Emeritus Professor of Applied Statistics at Sheffield Hallam University and is also a founder editor of two international journals, Journal of Applied Statistics and Total Quality Management. Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - One of the serious misconceptions of our times is the belief that economic development leads to an automatic reduction in poverty and inequality. The empirical facts of many developing countries show that such a belief does not square with the facts. Poverty in both absolute and relative terms is one of the most serious inter-temporal issues in the present century. Poverty and income-inequalities have many deleterious effects on human development that emphasises individual capability expansion, economic freedom, opportunity and choice. This book brings together articles from leading economists and sociologists, exploring contemporary issues on poverty and inequality and the effects they have on individuals and society as a whole.B.N. As the past is given to interact with the present, the old ideas of great economists remain essentially a living subject in the economic universe of discourse. Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A phenomenon is ever-changing, multifarious, intricate, unique in nature, type and magnitude in this complex world where actions, situations, activities, entities and processes are different at different times. The management of such a phenomenon becomes challenging due to underlying complexity, unknown/unseen interactions and different conditions.Consequently the management of such a phenomenon requires measurement. If you can't measure it, you can neither manage it nor improve it properly and effectively. Therefore the twin objectives of the present volume are: firstly, to develop the different structural models to establish potential causal relationships between endogenous and exogenous variables of a phenomenon based on path analysis. Secondly to transform the structural models into measurement models in order to deliver comprehensive, flexible versatile and robust measurement systems to measure a phenomenon or entity as a system in its totality, to be able to take the right actions and policy prescriptions. This book primarily deals with Business and Organisational Excellence and presents and delineates robust models such as Kanji's Total Quality Management Model, Kanji's Business Excellence Model, Kanji-Chopra Corporate Social Responsibility Model, Kanji-Chopra Performance Excellence Model, Kanji-Chopra Work Well-being Model and so on. This book will be an essential reading forboth academics and professionals working in the area of management, measurement, total quality management, business excellence, customers'satisfaction, leadership excellence, corporate social responsibility, managerial accountability, performance measurement and work stress.
