Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - The work of uncovering wisdom is also like panning for gold. We swish through the streams of experience, and we find a spangle here and there. In Explanation, author Rick Tobin offers those spangles, those nuggets of truth, through a series of letters written to his grandson. From abomination to termination, Tobin shares his important life experiences and opinions with his grandson. He explores doubts, fears, and perplexities that are found in various situations, and he illustrates how to find answers and personal truths to be a better person. The chapter 'Alternation' speaks about the importance of truth and trust. Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Brother Francis O'Neil has spent much of his twenty-first century life studying the work of his monastic founders, Jane de Chantal and Francis de Sales. By profession, he is a clinical psychologist and doctor of Chinese medicine, on top of his fascination with the two sixteenth-century religious figures. It is during one of his many academic and charitable trips to China, far from his home and life in Pennsylvania, when the unthinkable happens. Four-hundred-year-old ancient parchments have mysteriously come into his hands. An avid researcher and historian, O'Neil knows these parchments are special, but on closer inspection, he realizes they are much more than special: they may be the authentic texts, penned years before by de Chantal and de Sales. With his new acquisition, O'Neil also receives a strong feeling of foreboding that transcends time. Something happened to de Chantal and de Sales. They were involved in an ancient mystery, as yet unsolved. Perhaps, O'Neil-who knows their work so well-will unravel the mystery of his spiritual mother and father. He's good at solving puzzles, but how good is he at staying alive, as the parchments seem to bring danger to his doorstep Will the ancient pages end in murder abroad Or will the danger follow him back home to Pennsylvania.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - 'Metempsychosis' refers to the passing of the soul at death into another body, either human or animal. At its most basic, it refers to reincarnation, but the theory of past lives can have overwhelming consequences- especially when memories of these past lives seep into the life we currently live. Just ask a modern day, middle-aged New Mexico gentleman whose dreams threaten his reality.According to his dreams, this unassuming man was once a printer in seventeenth century Paris and then a United States senator. Prior to both of these lives, he was an Anasazi sun priest in the eleventh century. At first, it was easy to ignore his dreams. However, thanks to their persistence, this man must come to terms with the ramifications of his past lives and how they may affect the life he currently struggles to lead.Set above the backdrop of an ancient bridge in Paris, Pont Marie is the narrative of places, people, and things once forgotten but enlivened in one man's mind. How can he thrive in his current life when the past permeates his present How can he hold together relationships, when ancient relationships still haunt Will his quest for closure leave him cleansed or perhaps insane.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Callsign: Spectre is the true story of a young man from a small town in Pennsylvania who grows up and enlists in the United States Air Force at nineteen. Nearly forty years after the fact, Jeff Noecker recounts his combat flight experiences from the Vietnam War flying in an AC-130 Spectre gunship. The story follows him from his initial air force training to being accepted into an unusual Special Operations unit. What sets this story apart from the others that have been written about Vietnam is the Spectre gunship that Noecker flew in on his missions. While the US Air Force was flying hundreds of F-4s, F-105s, B-52s, OV-10s, O-2s, A-7s in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, there were only fourteen AC-130A Spectre gunships in theater and only one squadron that flew them-Noecker's squadron. There were even fewer than fourteen when the program began in 1968; the first few flew out of a base in Vietnam. The stories contained here resemble a diary, presenting both personal anecdotes of Noecker's and of stories he heard over the course of his time in service. Some of these may seem a bit farfetched, but Noecker sticks to the facts as much as possible. Unbelievable as some of the stories sound, his tales of his time in the air are unmistakably true.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - In October 1866, a powerful Category 4 hurricane struck the Bahamian Islands. With winds well over 140 miles per hour and even higher gusts that toppled trees, sank ships, peeled away rooftops, and destroyed vital infrastructures, the massive storm battered the islands with great ferocity. When the seas finally calmed and the winds died down, the massive storm had killed more than 387 people in the Bahamas alone and left a massive trail of destruction.Author Wayne Neely, a leading authority on Bahamian and Caribbean hurricanes, shares an engaging account of how the hurricane of 1866 not only devastated the islands, but also altered the course of Bahamian history forever. While demonstrating how the hurricane significantly impacted the wrecking and salvaging industry, Neely also educates others about the complex set of weather conditions that contribute to hurricanes. He includes fascinating stories of survival and heroism as the storm's victims struggled to move forward in the midst of tragedy.Hurricanes are no novelty to the Bahamas, but all who were lucky enough to live through the howling winds and the terror of a sky filled with flying debris surely never forgot The Great Bahamas Hurricane of 1866.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Where to now It is a question Len Arial repeatedly asks himself. As a personal injury lawyer, in the picturesque city of Charleston, SC, he is frustrated with his seemingly meaningless legal status. Once a dedicated prosecutor, Len is floundering in his own moral ambiguity, and sense of worth. Everything changes with one phone call. His closest friend, Detective TJ Jackson, informs him that their old nemesis, simply known as Billy Jack, is out of prison and back to settle-up. Murder, terror, and extensive world-wide felonious activities are a way of life, for this diabolical, sophisticated, and highly intelligent master criminal. Facing off with Billy Jack, in a frantic struggle, are Arial, and three very close friends. TJ Jackson, the superlative cop, who came through the projects and his own version of hell. Josie Jackson, noted microbiologist, who supports her husband against Billy Jack. Hannah Baktiar, also an extraordinary cop, escaped the repressive regime in Iran. All, of these lives, and many more are stories within the story, each interesting, and desperate, in their own way. In a tale of suspense, intrigue and terror, four people, battling their own internal demons, are in a turbulent cauldron, where the perplexity, of good and evil, intermingle in a clash of cultural values. Who will survive to redefine themselves Where to now.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - When the federal government starts to provide the American citizens with facts about what they are doing instead of making decisions that they believe are best for the common folk. The pathetic part is that the President and Congress for the most part do not listen to what the American citizen is telling them. When we make every member accountable we will be starting the process of 'Taking Back America'. The citizens of the United States need to express our opinions to the representatives of our local districts and make sure that they understand we will not be voting for them in 2012 if they do not start acting in the best interest of the people. Could it be that the reason that the main stream media is always backing the Democrats and the unions is because they are union shops. That is correct. The main stream media are union shops and therefore are usually biased in their reporting in favor of the Democrats and the unions. This sure explains some of their very biased articles.…
