This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The taboo surrounding sexuality is one of the main factors contributing to the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. It also leaves young adolescents vulnerable to teenage pregnancy and sexual assault. The aim of this study was to highlight the risks associated with the taboo surrounding sexuality and to propose a model for sex education for young adolescents in Rwanda. The main sources of information on sexuality for young adolescents in Rwanda, as in other societies where there is a strong taboo surrounding sexuality, are primarily peer groups and the media. Sex education encourages young adolescents to adopt safe sexual behaviours. The results are even better when young people receive such education before they have their first sexual encounter. This study sets out a model for sex education for young adolescents in Rwanda. To be effective, sex education must take into account and address the various dimensions of human sexuality. 56 pp. Englisch.…

It focuses on examining the level of intellectual development, body image formation and emotional life of Burkinabe children with autism spectrum disorder. Royer's stick figure drawing test was used to examine our hypothesis that there is a certain similarity between the stick figures drawn by Burkinabé children with autism and those drawn by children with autism described in the scientific literature, particularly children with autism in Europe. Indeed, the distinctive feature of this test is that it allows for both a normative approach (focusing on the details of the drawing) and a qualitative approach (focusing on the symbolism of the graphic representations) to children's stick-figure drawings. We therefore adopted a psychoanalytic approach within psychopathology to interpret the graphic representations collected from the children. The cases studied are, respectively, the Alpha case, the Brahim case, the Clément case and the Julie case. 88 pp. Englisch.…

The authors began with the observation that, in the urban municipality of Kankan, the local population engages in a range of informal sector activities, from which they derive a significant proportion of their income. Based on this observation, the research question was to demonstrate the contribution of this sector to poverty reduction - despite its exclusion from national accounts - in order to better assess its impact. This led to the formulation of the following working hypothesis: Activities in the informal sector (sewing, embroidery, hairdressing, carpentry and mechanics) are likely to have a positive impact on reducing household poverty. To test this assumption in practice, the overall objective of the research was to generate knowledge about activities in the informal sector with a view to highlighting their contribution to reducing household poverty. Specific objectives were set to achieve this. This document is intended for readers wishing to learn more about the link between the informal sector and poverty. 52 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The countries covered by this study, Morocco and France, have undergone educational reforms. School textbooks have been analysed to assess how they respond to these curricular changes. This study has revealed differences in both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of environmental integration within lower secondary school life and earth sciences curricula. The predominance of an informative style in Moroccan textbooks implies limited learner involvement in the construction of knowledge. Thus, the competence-based approach, which forms the basis for the design of the textbooks, is not reflected in the way knowledge is presented in these texts. Consequently, teaching on environmental issues appears to lack the kind of problem-based learning aimed at educating future stakeholders to act thoughtfully towards the environment. French textbooks, on the other hand, reflect to a certain extent a problematisation of knowledge that enables learners to be more productive. The inclusion of participatory texts helps to convey a vision of a more autonomous education, which is essential in textbooks dealing with topics relating to environmental education. 52 pp. Englisch.…

The specific objectives are: to carry out a geomorphological characterisation of the Ngaoundal and Ngaoundéré cliff sites; to carry out a mineralogical and petrographic characterisation of these sites; to carry out a metallogenic characterisation of the Ngaoundal site; and to estimate the ore tonnage of the Ngaoundal deposit. From a geomorphological perspective, two main units can be distinguished on the Ngaoundéré cliff and three at Ngaoundal. Petrographic analyses revealed, on the Ngaoundéré cliff, biotite gneisses with a granolepidoblastic texture and biotite granites with a porphyroid-grained texture; whilst at Ngaoundal, the olivine basalt exhibits a porphyritic microlitic texture. The various facies encountered at Ngaoundal are nodular, massive, vacuolar, pisolitic and pseudonodular. A digital elevation model was utilised at these sites to improve the quality of the morphological data already available for them. 72 pp. Englisch. …
