After a theoretical discussion, these relationships were explored empirically, proving a positive correlation between undervalued exchange rates and economic growth and a negative correlation between exchange rate volatility and economic growth in developing and emerging countries. Its conclusions highlight that exchange rate arrangements characterized by competitive and stable exchange rates represent a pro-growth exchange rate policy strategy, whereas appreciated and volatile exchange rates are part of a malignant regime that discourages economic growth. In Brazil, between 1994 and 2008, a malignant exchange rate arrangement can be identified, given the tendency toward appreciation and excessive volatility. Different factors are correlated and their influence on decision-making behaviour is calculated using binary logistic regressions. Specifically, three different areas are considered: the economic area, the legal area and the health area. secondly, the objective problem orientation using opportunity and threat scenarios, and thirdly, three different payoffs and probabilities of consequences - referred to in this paper as number combinations - are examined using framing scenarios based on the formal model of the Asian Disease Problem. For this purpose, six questionnaire versions with six monetary decision situations each are created, which depict the individual factors in different combinations. In addition, the predictive power of eleven known heuristics is tested. The results show a significant influence of the area on decision-making behaviour. Furthermore, potential interactions with possible approaches for further studies are discussed.

The objective of this work was to integrate data and increase the potential for knowledge and use of project information by seeking unconventional techniques in environmental studies. Physical-chemical and biological water parameter data collected every two weeks over a two-year period (2005 and 2007) at 10 sampling stations distributed throughout the bay were evaluated. An organization for the data in a spatial database model (geodatabase) was evaluated, and a spatio-temporal investigation was carried out using exploratory techniques and supervised (decision tree) and unsupervised (fuzzy) classification analyses, considering multivariate criteria. These understandings enabled the generation of a new zoning for the assessment of the bay's water quality. The potential contribution of geoprocessing tools as an interface for accessing the database and in the processes of analysis, integration, and spatial presentation of information was also explored.

But how could I work towards school inclusion, in the fullest sense of the term, involving regular attendance and real learning, if the reports I heard from these children and adolescents described a school that was, for the most part, uninteresting and unmotivating for learning This question led me to develop a master's degree research project in the field of education at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). My research question stemmed from the possibility of actions or attitudes on the part of teachers that could facilitate student learning and motivate them to learn and stay in school. From this question arose the hypothesis that empathetic attitudes, closeness, and inclusion in knowledge could constitute motivation.

As part of an experiment, sixteen beginner flute students receive four months of targeted ear training in their individual instrumental lessons. The following four aspects are particularly emphasised: 1) hearing intervals, 2) playing music from memory, 3) recognising programme music, and 4) hearing sounds/playing sounds. The results of the tests from the experimental group compared with a control group clearly show that it makes perfect sense to include ear training more systematically in beginner instrumental lessons. A welcome side effect is that many students who are taught to listen consciously not only develop a great joy in free playing, but also, with appropriate guidance, in organised improvisation. 56 pp. Englisch.
