Exterior shows considerable wear to the spine and edges with boards barely hanging on just by the binder string. Leather to spine is dry and brittle with large section broken off. A spine section is separated and is inside of the book. Interior binding is complete with all pages present. For the most part the binding is secure though pages around pages 413-420 the binding is pulling and the pages are sticking out a bit. Pages are tone due to age and scattered foxing is present with the end pages and pastedowns being the worst. Signed on the front end page by Edwin H. Stow, who was the President Judge (Chief Justice) of the fifth district in Pennsylvania. Note: this is the original publication from the 1800s and not a modern reprint. It merged with Edinburgh Magazine and Literary Miscellany in 1804.
