"The Seasons" is a book-length poem in blank verse, "reflecting on the landscape of the countryside" ".The Seasons .was published one season at a time, Winter in 1726, Summer in 1727, Spring in 1728 and Autumn only in the complete edition of 1730.[ [It} was translated into German by Barthold Heinrich Brockes (1745). The first full edition of The Seasons by the Scottish poet, James Thomson (1700-48) was published in 1730.
