Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Diligence--To the Things of God begins by sharing a pair of basic insights: 'Diligence is the key to power with God. It is the path to living an effective Christian life.' Beginning with these two truths and drawing upon the inspired stories contained in the Bible, Sheldon D. Newton focuses on the calling to be diligent to the things of God. He defines diligence, describes how to form good habits, commends diligence to God's word, calls for diligence in one's prayer life, advocates for steering clear of strife, encourages diligence in one's stewardship of money, and concludes by calling readers to live diligently for a higher purpose: reaching, helping, and influencing people so that they may come to know and to trust in Jesus Christ. Diligence--To the Things of God speaks to people who desire to work hard to reach their desired destinations both in their day-to-day lives and in their pursuit of the kingdom of God. It offers encouragement to anyone who wants to move beyond laziness in his or her spiritual life and to become all that the Father, Jehovah God envisions for a full life. It holds out diligence as the key, missing link between desire and fulfillment.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - This book consists of speeches, welcomes, occasions, children medita- tions, and a tribute. As you read some of the speeches in this book, you will note that I have used practical examples in my life that relate to God's Word. As a Christian, I am one of God's vessels to be used to transport or spread His Holy Word to others, as I indicated in one of my speeches. Through His Son, Jesus Christ that we receive salvation. Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' (KJV) 'Jesus the Security God's Word the Trademark.' It is my hope that each reader of this book will be inspired to read God's Word daily, and realize the love and goodness of God. He loved us so much, that He let his only begotten Son, Jesus die on the cross for our sins, in order for us to have everlasting life.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - The Donauschwaben, a mostly unknown ethnic group of Germans, migrated to Yugoslavia in the late 1700s. Endless boundary conflicts varyingly defined their land as Hungary, Yugoslavia, or Serbia. During World War II their ethnicity unfairly marked them as Nazi sympathizers despite their noncombatant status. They found themselves on the wrong side of every border as a wave of anti-German resentment legitimized their persecution and eradication.TAKEN: A Lament for a Lost Ethnicity relates the intimate memoirs of Joseph Schaeffer, an ethnic Donauschwaben. Joseph's childhood is stolen the day the Russians march into town. He is captured and taken from his land and family to a slave labor camp of endless suffering and years of imprisonment. Hope is restored after a courageous escape and eventual immigration to the United States. This enduring tale of survival eventually reunites the Schaeffer family and life begins anew.'TAKEN is a testament to one man's tenacity and courage and an affirmation of hope and life in a world full of despair and death. The plight of refugees in post-war central Europe is an important, yet neglected story. Joseph Schaeffer's life and memories bring poignancy and immediacy to that story. Kathryn Schaeffer Pabst ably crafts the memoir and deserves our appreciation for bringing her father's story of survival to us.'-Eugene Edward Beiriger, Ph.D., Associate Professor of History, DePaul University.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Each soldier who chooses to join his brothers in arms to defend this country's freedom knows that at sometime he will have to enter the valley of the shadow of death. As you pass through this valley brought on by human conflict, some become lost in the fog of war, while others, through some unexplained reason, by some miracle, survive. There have been stories told and retold by other veterans about unexplained events such as ghosts, whispered voices, lucky charms, guardian angels, and divine intervention that moved these soldiers safely through the valley. In the unwritten history of military conflict there have been literally hundreds of strange events, bizarre happenings in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam; that, for many veterans, still remain unexplained. Every veteran who has survived this journey, who still mourns for his lost friends and loved ones tries to find the answer to one burning question, why. Why was he spared Did the creator have some unfulfilled task for him to complete, or, is it mere chance, a stroke of luck that spared his life Seeking the answer to this nagging question, an old veteran, in the twilight of his life goes to the Vietnam Memorial Wall, randomly puts his hand on a familiar name, and recalls a long forgotten memory. This book is a collection of stories not only about the strange events and happenings during combat; it is also about the human kindness, love and the drama that somehow prevails during the trauma of war. These stories although fictionalized were inspired by a true premise. J. A. (Pappy) Smith LTC USAF - Retired Forward Air Controller 2nd/16th Ranger Battalion 1st Infantry Division, Vietnam. Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Some days, we wake up in the morning and feel like we are on top of the world. However, by the end of the day, we feel like the world has turned against us because we have gone through a trial, or a series of trials, in one day. By the end of the day, our head hurts, our stress level has increased, and we seek an outlet. For many, that outlet is food, drinking, smoking, or drugs. We find out that 'Life is like a Box of Chocolates' and based upon other contributing factors, we do not know what to expect or more importantly what to do. We feel like our trial is unique and no one could possibly relate. We feel isolated and defeated because we do not know what to do when we face trials. Box of Chocolates for Teens is designed to walk you through scenarios that are based on real-life events. The book enables teens to realize their problems are not unique. Teens will begin to realize their trials are similar to other teens and they are not alone. The book consists of 180 scenarios that are categorized by SCHOOL - FAMILY - LIFE issues for each day of the school year. The book contains a 5-step application process to reveal the provisions God has made for our every need. The scenarios included in the books can happen to anyone, so teens are encouraged to depend on God and promises He has made to us through the Holy Bible. Step 2 of the 5-step process can be facilitated in a group or alone. The facilitated session enables participants to think about the 'what if' and gives them an opportunity to proactively respond to issues they may face or someone they know may face. During the session, participants have the opportunity to respond to scenarios and share his/her life experiences. …

Soon after her high school graduation, Stoddard marries her boyfriend Patrick, whose personal problems begin to cause trouble for the couple almost immediately. As the years go by, Patrick's behavior continues to deteriorate, and divorce becomes the only logical choice. After the dissolution of her marriage, Stoddard's life changes dramatically. With the responsibilities of a new job, a mortgage, and most importantly, her nine-year-old son, Matt, Stoddard can't rely on her ex-husband to provide support. She has to do it on her own.Since her new position requires extensive travel, Stoddard decides that live-in help is an absolute necessity. But finding a trustworthy, dependable nanny becomes an educational experience as she hires a total of seven individuals over the next few years, most with qualities that make them less-than-ideal child care providers.Mom's the Word: A Memoir of Love and Survival tells the inspiring and often humorous story of Stoddard's experiences as she, her son and their fat beagle survive the craziness, heartache, fear, joy, and personal growth that come with life's challenges. 'From a working single mother, a colorful account of the struggles and triumphs of raising her son while maintaining her sanity. Buch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - I don't guess too many people have heard of Clifton, Virginia. Least ways that's how it was when I lived there. Times do change though and what was may longer be, and what is might not have been at all and vice versa or something like that. Our farm was about three miles out of town and our mailing address was Route 1, Box 214 Clifton so I guess we were residents. Mom used to refer to the town as 'The Village' and I suppose it was, in fact, more of a village than a town. There were a total of five roads leadin1 to Clifton and all five were posted with Corporate Limits signs, so I guess whether anyone had ever heard of it or not, the place did exist and that made it official. The truth of the matter is -five roads were leadin1 into town but one of 'um just kept on goin' whit a Corporate Limit sign on both ends - so it all depended on which was you were headin' as to how you counted the roads.…
