He used the trade name of "Zan of Tamalpais" from the 1920s-1950s. Postcard is unused. Postcard is virtually pristine and intact except for slight edge wear and slight age toning on the back. A Fine copy. This postcard shows a pedestal and statue memorializing the Donner Party. The height of the pedestal, at twenty-two feet, indicates the snow level during the winter of 1846-1847.

This postcard shows the Cave Rock Tunnel that was completed in 1931 on westbound U.S. Route 50. Lake Tahoe and mountains are visible to the right. The tunnel today is a dual-bore tunnel. Another tunnel was added in 1957 to accommodate four lanes carrying west- and eastbound US 50. The two tunnels go through the eponymous Cave Rock which is located between Glenbrook and Zephyr Cove on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe.

The Redwood Highway was completed in 1923 and comprises U.S. Route 101 from San Francisco to Oregon. The Del Norte Wonder Tree (or Del Norte Wonder Stump) is the stump of a coast redwood tree that had grown over a fallen coast redwood log. According to the postcard, the log is estimated to have been 1,000 years old when it fell, and the stump was about 1,500 years old when it was cut. The postcard includes text printed over the image to illustrate the diameter and ages of the stump and log.
