Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. New Edition. Brown cloth on boards with gilt lettering to spine. The pictorial dust jacket is unclipped. In common with other available copies of this book, the pages are browning, due to the poor quality paper used. This is a 1986 'new edition' of the 1947 original edition concerning the life of women working on the British canal system during and around the Second World War. Whilst the original edition only had one photograph, this new edition has 18 black and white photographs over 8 pages, plus a plan of a narrow boat.

Hardcover. Condición: Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Poor. 1st Edition. Scarce childrens novel about a boy and a girl escaping the police to travel on the canals of England. Published a year after her personal account of life on the waterways during the WW2, this enabled her to give an air of authenticity to the book. Jacket heavily worn, stained and with significant loss and several tears. Not price-clipped. Red cloth boards with black title to spine. Binding tight. Slight bumping to head and tail of spine. Corners slightly turned. Some spotting to faces of page block. Previous owners name to ffep (twice) and faint ink marks. Thereafter, the text is very clean and bright. Whilst the jacket is heavily worn, I am not aware of another copy with this highly attractive design. Illustrated. 246pp. More details available on request. (Ud4).
