Añadir al carritoFour women engineers at NASA, photographed in uniform during the development of the American space program. Women contributed to NASA's early missions as mathematicians, human computers, engineers, and technical specialists, performing calculations, analyzing flight data, and supporting spacecraft development and mission operations. Their work was particularly consequential during the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs, when increasingly complex spaceflight operations required extensive mathematical and engineering expertise. By the end of the 1960s, NASA employed thousands of women in technical, scientific, medical, and administrative positions, although women continued to face substantial barriers to professional advancement in aerospace engineering. Black-and-white modern reprint of a gelatin silver photograph, measuring 8½ x 11 inches, depicting four female NASA engineers wearing uniforms and identification badges. One of the women pictured has signed the photograph in black ink, providing a direct association with one of its subjects. The identities of the four engineers, the original photographic date, and the date of the reprint are not established. The photograph records women's employment in NASA's technical workforce, where female mathematicians and engineers contributed to flight calculations, spacecraft systems, and mission preparation during the expansion of American space exploration. The uniforms and identification badges document the women's institutional affiliation, while the autograph distinguishes this modern print from an unsigned reproduction. Very good condition. Signed.…
