Thoma at the arts and crafts school in Karlsruhe. He worked as an art teacher in Schwerin from 1916 and founded the artist group "Die Pforte" in Heidelberg together with Richard Benz in 1921, which published books, posters and other printed works according to his own ideas. Since 1920 Wolf was a professor at the State Art School in Karlsruhe. He emigrated to the USA in 1938."-website. This issue of the Fluxus / avant-garde happenings bulletin, started in 1962 by Wolf Vostell, includes an introductory section on DIAS (Destruction in Art Symposium) alongside other contributions by artists, poets and writers and reproductions of artworks and photographs. The section on DIAS includes Gustav Metzger's 1961 manifesto and 1966 poster, correspondence between Metzger and Vostell, a preliminary report on the symposium and photographs of the event. Among these, there are photographs of Dom Sylvester Houédard (misspelt in the contents as T.S. Houédard), Henri Chopin, Metzger, Vostell and Jean-Jacques Lebel. Other artists, poets and writers who feature in the issue include Dick Higgins, Allan Kaprow, Milan Knizak, Kurt Kren, Nam June Paik, Diter Rot and Ben Vautier. Condition: Very good +. No tears, major creases, or writing, slight foxing to bottom edge of cover, minor rubbing to bottom corner of the sheets and slight toing to edges of back cover, internally near fine.
