Witley was a pseudonym of Alex Forbath (1890-1964), a Hungarian, doctor, writer, historian and poet. This is his account of the life and times of the Roman statesman, lawyer, scholar, philosopher and writer, Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC). The book is bound in the original mauve cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some light soiling on the boards. The spine ends are bumped and the spine is faded with a dent in the cloth running down part of the middle of the spine. The contents are tight and clean with some foxing to the fixed endpapers. There are no blank free endpapers but this appears to be as issued. There is no inscription.
