Event was about eliminating known communists from the film industry.

Jones (left) of Vero Beach, Fla., is congratulated at a Korean air base by Col. Francis S. Gabreski of Oil City, PA, after they returned from a fourth fighter wing sabrejet mission to northwest Korea Oct. 1 on which Jones shot down the 100th enemy MIG-15 jet fighter to be downed by Fifth Air Force Pilots and Far East Air Forces Bomber Command Gunners. Gabreski has three MGS to his credit and is the leading MIG killer now flying in Korea. (APWirephoto).

Generally known as one of the most extensively-travelled Soviet poets, he had been on a five-week American poetry tour, when the photograph was taken.
