Gabreski of Oil City, PA, after they returned from a fourth fighter wing sabrejet mission to northwest Korea Oct. 1 on which Jones shot down the 100th enemy MIG-15 jet fighter to be downed by Fifth Air Force Pilots and Far East Air Forces Bomber Command Gunners. Generally known as one of the most extensively-travelled Soviet poets, he had been on a five-week American poetry tour, when the photograph was taken.
