Die prunkvollen Gewehre und Pistolen aus dem 16. bis 19. Jahrhundert dienten der Jagd, dem Scheibenschießen sowie der höfis…chen Repräsentation. Der neue Museumsführer stellt die Sammlungsgeschichte sowie Architektur und Ausstattung des Langen Ganges vor. Der rund 100 Meter lange Renaissancebau verkörperte mit seiner Ahnengalerie die dynastische Memoria des Herrscherhauses und beherbergte seit 1733 das kurfürstliche 'Leibgewehr'. Eine reichbebilderte Objektauswahl bietet eine Reise durch drei Jahrhunderte europäischer Büchsenmacher- und Dekorationskunst, wobei die Exponate in ihren vielschichtigen kulturhistorischen Zusammenhängen erläutert werden.
