Three scarce items, with no other copies traced. All three carry the Club's badge. The 1929 menu is in good condition; the other two items are in fair condition, lightly aged and worn. The two 'Christmas Supper' menus are uniform in layout. Each is printed on an 8vo piece of white card, with the same photograph of 'J. Windsor Bu…rgess as Father Christmas' on one side and the menu on the other. (The menus differ and are dated.) Each menu is wrapped in a grey-paper 8vo bifolium, printed on all four sides. The Menu for 19 December 1927 states on the cover: 'J. H. Brocklehurst, Esq. President, in the Chair'. In the menu of 16 December 1929 the President is A. C. Wilson. The other three pages of the wraps carry the order of the 'Music and Observances', printing the texts of songs including 'The Boar's Head Song' and Walter Emsley's 'Here's to his Health'. The third item is an invitation (1p, 8vo) on card to the 'Complimentary Supper to Prof. F. E. Weiss, D.Sc., F.R.S., F.L.S. (Professor of Botany at The University, Manchester.)', on 5 March 1928. The toast is given by Brocklehurst as President, J. Cuming Walters (from whose collection the material derives) and Councillor C. W. Godbert'.

Good. Toning to covers. Minor splits along original fold lines, stabilized on verso. Size 8.25 x 27.5 Inches. This is a c. 1916 map of Salt Lake City, Utah, issued to promote the New Wilson Hotel. A Closer Look The map is centered on a long decorative panorama featuring, to either side, photographic illustrations of Salt Lake Ci…ty sites and nearby points of interest. The map itself covers downtown Salt Lake City from Great Salt Lake to the Mount Olivet Cemetary and from the state capitol building to Majestic and Liberty Parks. The Wilson Hotel is near the center, just a few blocks from Temple Square and the City and County Building. Below the map, a numerical key identifies 35 sites within the city, and five outside its borders. The verso features promotional commentary on the Salt Lake areas, and a history of the Morman Faith and Mormons in Salt Lake City, from the journey of the Mormon Pioneers across the plains from Mauvoo, to the Articles of Faith of the Latter-Day Saints. Wilson Hotel The Wilson Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. Initially constructed in 1903, the hotel quickly became a landmark in the city, known for its elegance and luxury. Located in downtown Salt Lake City, the Wilson Hotel was a hub for travelers and locals alike. Over the years, it underwent several renovations and changes in ownership, reflecting the city's growth and evolving needs. The building eventually transitioned into other uses, but it remains a fixture of Salt Lake City's architectural and cultural history. Publication History and Census This map was issued c. 1916 for the Wilson Hotel. No printer is named, but it was likely compiled and printed by Milroy and Hayes, who printed other Wilson Hotel material. The map appeared in many variants and states from about 1903 to 1927, and with none dated, it is difficult to compile a complete history or census.
