This new volume is organized alphabetically by maker and is fully cross-referenced. A company history begins each entry which then goes on to cover patent information, progression of models (often including production figures or estimates) and suggestions for collecting. Examples of the guns have been illustrated from the nation's best public and private collections, and detailed captions record all pertinent particulars. Every effort has been made to include all deringers made available to the American market during the historical period. A comprehensive and detailed study.
