Werner Rolevinck (1425-1502) was a Carthusian author, born in Laer. He died in 1502 of the plague. De Laude Veteris Saxoniae nunc Westphaliae Dictae (c. 1478) is one of his most enduring works, and it covers the history of his homeland in Westphalia.
